Frustration Score Card

Brands and Social Media: 7 strategic criteria to invest in it

Customers hunger conversation, but they are not equal when it comes to online expression, as companies and brands to face conversations that enrich each day Internet. The trademarks, uninformed or have little awareness of the strategic, oscillate between contempt, awkwardness and mastery of social networks. The period we are living is comparable to what we experienced in the years 1999-2001: the time it was claimed he had an urgent "make a website" . Today, it "must be on social networks " and excuses are many. Providers and other wizards of social marketing will tell you about the tools or" marketing moves "before you talk about strategy and customer needs.

While Social Media is revolutionizing the relationship between brands and consumers in this age New Customer Relationship , I wondered what criteria was a brand new investing these channels.
I found 7 criteria, and if Napoleon illustrates my ticket it is to illustrate my point of view is that this decision falls within the strategy and deserves some thought.
  1. culture. Prime important topic: the culture of the company. It is easier for a company born in the last ten years (as Zappos ) and operating primarily online to practice their conversation with customers, being open to dialogue and exchange with its customers, for older firms such as BNP Paribas or SNCF made of bricks and mortar. Similarly all brands have the same natural orientation, and the average age of management which could hamper the transition to a presence on social media. There is a generation managers who learned to manage-often successfully-without exchanging with the end customer. Remember the episode of the client who bends Marks and Spencer on Facebook and imagine if the President of the time-close to retirement age, had been sensitive to online networks. I would add that if I took the examples of the SNCF and BNP Paribas, it is precisely because these two brands make real efforts to change their culture: the space station with his dialogue and his community management BNP Paribas with its Service account on Twitter.
  2. positioning. can be very strong in customer marketing and little sensible aux médias sociaux : c'est un choix. Coca Cola, marque emblématique, a fait très tôt des choix strategic success with social media (see this eloquent presentation ), while many brands are rushed into the arena without having calculated. The imperative of transparency required in the Internet requires brands to rethink their position precisely and assert their position, whatever it is.
  3. Awareness. For a brand known to the general public, there is a kind of evidence to provide a presence on social media. Investments in communication, the exposure of the brand recognition is the result, spark conversations. Like it or not in this case, to quote the Clue Train Manifesto , it is the subject of conversation. This is true of luxury brands that make them talk. However, they must enter the conversation, should they adopt Web 2.0 tools? Their image can it cope with an environment they can not speak? Chanel does not n''importe any retailer to sell it through a strict charter (see the news at Marionnaud this week and the withdrawal of products), why would it presents online to chat? The vast consumption, meanwhile, discovers the face of its customers and their need for recognition. Eg Nutella and Ferrero group brands were $ 22 million fans on Facebook, the soft drink Oasis is beyond the 1.5 million fans.
  4. The volume of customers. Internet has become a mass medium, the volume of customers of a mark may require him to take an interest in social media because its customers are already there and social media are an exceptional opportunity for enhanced contact between them (the crowd sourcing), even before the company enters the conversation. The challenge for these brands will be to manage their presence (And reputation) on the planet, while 20 million people declare themselves each day as "fans" of a page on Facebook (DDB study) and certainly just as consumers write reviews. The large volume of customers is an essential criterion and that dimension precipitates brands that previously have no contact with their customers. On the other hand, it is easier to run overnight in Web 2.0 when you have few customers and an organization agile enough to cope ...
  5. The frequency of contact. Needless to say it is an essential difference between the RATP and the cuisines Mobalpa between the MAFF and Nokia. Exposure to the brand, frequency of contact between a customer and its supplier are important criteria that promote attachment and fuel the conversation. With daily use of a product or service, the customer always has more topics, more questions about the brand. The customer wants more easily extend their online experience, share with other clients and simply improve their everyday lives. What's better than social media in their most useful to the client to strengthen the relationship and improve customer service? We think so to blogs, wiki and forums for dialogue. watch the episode Site recent "incidents-RATP " where users help each other at the initiative of a person and can just threaten the RATP. Would it not take teaming up with the creator of this site rather than oppose it?
  6. experience level. The client invests in its relations with different brands. The first reason is the level of experience, immersion, connection. The monthly budget for electricity is equal to that of subscribing to a mobile operator, but experience of an operator is stronger and pushes the client has to want to converse with a brand, look for solutions online, enriching experience. There is a world between EDF and Orange, as between a carmaker and brand lift. By living the customer experience is rich and intense increases the probability of trying to get closer to the mark.
  7. intensity client relationship. This criterion re vital could also be classified as affinity with the brand advertising at an angle. This intensity, this proximity between a brand and its customers is the basis for the creation of any community. To quote a friend of my shortcut comical Pierre Volle, with whom I exchanged on these criteria: "there is a difference between Harley Davidson and Harpic toilet" . And yet, these are two manufactured products that, on paper, nothing different. All products do not lend themselves to conversation, to dialogue with the client, have no sharp protrusions to social media. This intensity can not be decreed, it is the result of an original positioning of the brand, a strategic choice oldest. Take the example of the logo change GAP that ignites the canvas and rushed the U.S. banner in turmoil and conversation. Conclusion: GAP has underestimated its potential "talkabilité" (ability to speak of themselves) and would have to involve its customers in upstream . Has anyone bothered of new-and low-logo Intermarché Musketeers? To take the example of Harley Davidson, one could say that the brand is so strong in the minds of its customers, the communities are so strong and natural (the famous chapters) that the web is an accessory and social media a natural extension. Intermarket, which is not known for the intensity of its customer relations, has shrewdly created a Facebook group about babies and met a great success. A good way to invest social media.
These strategic criteria finally make me think of those that applied in the 70 to 90 and the thoughts I shared with my mentor Jean-Louis Ferry about clubs in direct marketing. To make a club customers, it needed a product or service that lends itself, established a direct relationship with its customers, an ability to thrive in a market, means to host and manage data (which gave an advantage to airlines and mail order) but above all the willingness to maintain a relationship with its customers.
Today, the Internet, it became easier to bring its customers the tools of dialogue are 100 times more powerful, customers expressed already all over the web and not waiting after the mark to meet. But the same policy questions remain. Do I desire or need to have a relationship with my clients? About what? My brand is legitimate? My management is willing to let the customer in the company? Am I able to sustain the effort over time? What benefit will I learn? Am I willing to change my organization to invest social media?

These reflections are based on two lectures given recently, one in UDA, the other AMARC , and a counter next bloggers and I am pleased to share it.

Shooting Pain In Left Side Of Neck

The Smokey Life

As in "Love Itself " Leonard Cohen us into a dream ride: a moment abandoning weight all the worries, all conventions, all vestiges of a past that bulky builds up, let us float away like smoke.
smoke symbolizes lightness, inconsequence, carelessness, indifference, indolence, casually, abandonment, detachment, letting go ... a general trend, "said Leonard Cohen :" Everyone s 'leads to life smoke "(some" smoke "easier, however, this escape, or rather this flight).
Nothing is really important that the present moment. Past and future blend into a distant haze, and one can imagine reliving the passions of the past, forgetting that this was the passage of time.
Forget the future, do not try to predict the past ...

Life Smoke

I 'have never seen your eyes so big
I''ve never seen a devouring appetite if
Your feast of love is far
I know ... where once, we agreed to release us
Let one evening still married

Light, so light
That may restrict release
It is so light that may restrict release

Remember when the scenery faded
I t learner walking in the air
Look up, the soil has fled
Nobody here expects
All the world is training to life
Smoke

Put your heart at ease wait
These autumn leaves do not lose no time
A expect snow and wind
Do not insist, it's time
There is nothing that can scare you

Leger , so light
That may restrict release
is so light that may restrict release

Remember when the scenery faded
I teach you to walk in the air
Look up, the soil fled
Nobody here expects
All the world is training to life
Smoke

the occasion, come back here
You will find all my closest friends

Light, so light
That may restrict release
is so light you can s 'release

Rusty Cage

Song Group " Soundgarden, "written by Chris Cornell , but interpreted with a sobriety that gives it incredible strength by Johnny Cash" Rusty Cage "evokes torture of confinement and revival of savage instinct of freedom.

Rusty Cage

Thou hast chained
and beaten with nails on your glove
Up on a leash, pulled my chain, and
Have watched my boil blood

But I'll break
I will break my ...
I'll break my rusty cage, and flee

Too cold for flames
I burn oil, dinosaur bones
I go down the river to Flatwater
Then sled dog

But I'll break
I will break my ...
I'll break my rusty cage and run away

It hurts like a stake through my brain
It will be too dark to sleep must
That I make my teeth on bars and chains
I'll break my rusty cage and run away

When on the road, the forest caught fire
In my headlights like eyes of god
The dogs go for their bones, barking
Raining ice picks on your steel shores

But I'll break
I will break my ...
I'll break my rusty cage and run away

2.0 Service Included: the book that can change your life

Service Included 2.0 -the-book released today, 25 years to the day after the release of "Service Included", which sold half a million copies. The new book of Philip Bloch is available in paper format, pursuant to smartphone, on subscription via email, e-book (go to the website dedicated ): a way of being at the forefront of publishing For this new edition.
Philippe Bloch, who just answered the questionnaire of the sense of client (read his interview here ), we proposed a quarter century after the release of his first book, a new book on customer service.
In the manner of the book teeming with Tom Peters "The Little Big Things " or a book iconoclastic Seth Godin, Philippe Bloch shares his personal vision of service that companies should set aside in reserve or customer.
Nine Chapters, 360 ideas.
Far from opus theoretical, esoteric and complex and curvaceous spreadsheets, Philippe Bloch brings "360 ideas for improving the quality of service to the Internet age" .
His ideas are combined into 9 chapters: Background, Strategy, Values, Differentiation, Newtech, Consulting, Recruitment, Management and Exemplary.
is this last part that I personally enjoyed (judging by the number of post-it stuck to the pages of my copy), because for me the biggest benefit that an experienced man like Philip Bloch can offer the reader. The lead, inspire colleagues, to bring the values: as when he suggests business leaders to be addressed customer complaints, or view a boomerang in his office to serve as resources to retain Customers are more important than those assigned to recruiting (quoting the passage the book "Crowning The Customer ). As part of what I call a big trend for years to come (in my post "employees first" ), he campaigned for the respect of teams in contact with the customer and also for the fact to the Expression of the customer to the agenda of all meetings of management by example.
In his book, Philip Bloch alternates sensible recommendations and examples from Japan and he loves the United States (where it resides). He will be happy to learn that his recommendation on the organization of queues inspired by the United States (in a single line to better manage the customer) who are interested in Carrefour is testing in Spain and soon in France.
The author does not fail to mention two of my two favorite companies: Zappos the U.S. and Leroy Merlin the French several times in his book.
In this collection of examples, anecdotes and quotes that Philip Bloch excels. the "fish philosophy" describing the mood that prevails on the fish market in the city of Seattle (see the book Fish - A remarkable approach to optimize the development work at all by taking taste-), to open days and Augustin Michel in France, through the kind of tasty quotes "a sweeping staircase is always from the top step" , Customer Service 2.0, you offers panorama illustrated customer service that reads with relish. You want to send some pages to friends or to support their efforts, either to remind them that certain behaviors are now standard they would do well to adopt.
In good marketer, Philippe Bloch also takes a step back to give us reasoned reflections like "All your clients do not deserve necessarily the same attention "and" One does not become low cost. "It also addresses all aspects of customer-oriented management with many tips.
Win a copy
At the risk of losing my reputation as a blogger to appear objective and naive, I add the blog sense of client is quoted in the Council # 156 "identify the best websites to help you think".
I also love the recognition, and I'm just proud to find my generation in this book, 25 years after reading the previous one. In 1986 the book had changed my life, I hope that will change 2.0 Service Included those readers who have twenty years now and who intend to wonderful art of customer relations.
Ironically I did not know Philip Bloch before publication of this book and we met a few weeks ago. You will appreciate the gift he provided to readers of this blog: a copy of the book will be offered the six players who will testify u No comment (not anonymous) on this ticket and we will tell a great story of customer service .
Tell us a story that unusual you witnessed, from the smallest attention to you or that you have reserved implementation yourself.
Philippe and I denote the top six stories on March 3.

Have your say!

Cramps, Cervical Mucus

And Petitroize

Our desire Petitroize was left to the end, the first baby I carried to term and even more, since he was born one day later, yesterday morning in the comfortable and warm chiaroscuro of our room .

For the technicalities, the beast is a boy of 4.5 pounds and measuring 55.5 cm - no wonder why he does not fit into the clothes one month (no birth not speak), even diapers for infants are too small. We go live to the stage after, and His Eminence motivates already very strong on "in 500 grams you pass the 5 kgs, and I remind you that 5 kgs you what you need to make your nights . What finally ours. "

Great are adorable and follow their character, the Young Turkey softly, restraint and caution, Ms. Marschallin in any exuberance enthusiastic and affectionate, but not very controlled. The little boy whines a lot, kind there right away, so I'll leave you.

Female Suitcase Piercing

When I'm Sixty-Four

This Song ( Paul McCartney / John Lennon , Beatles ) was written by Paul McCartney when he was 16. Although it takes a bit as a parody, poking fun (with respect and affection) the ragtime played by his father (who had precisely 64 years when it was recorded) , this song just touches describing the "little things" that seem the most mundane of life and actually contain the greatest love. This letter from a young lover, in his naive formalism, is apparently the opposite of Romanticism, but it is, somehow, visionary. When the weather made us live dramas and denying our hopes, is the prospect of this old joint, nourished by love and memories, we miss the most.
"Old Friends " sang Paul Simon ...

At sixty-four years

When I'm old
Losing my ch'veux
In quite a few years
Fêteras you always Valentine
Birthday, bottle of wine?

If I went to an ungodly hour
would open you up?
M'espéreras you, you feed me
At sixty-four?

you get older like me
But if you say the word
I stay with you

I defer electricity
If the seals jumping
You sew the the fireplace
Saturday we would prom'ner

Doing the garden, planting lettuce
We do not want both
M'espéreras you, you feed me
A sixty-four?

the summer we rent, if c 'is not too expensive
A small villa near the Wed
We will spare
For our grandchildren
That lull us

by letter or telephone, will you
say your point of view
Indicates what you mean exactly
Greetings, your old crumbling

On a form, answer, do you
Let me in long
M'espéreras you, you feed me
At sixty-four?

(Translation - Adaptation: Polyphrène)

PS: Jason Reeves sang in a French adaptation sister title "In 45 years, "but I could not find the lyrics on the web.

Sample Welcome Addresss

Eleanor Rigby (The Lonely People)

Eleanor Rigby (John Lennon / Paul McCartney ) is a typical song " maturation" of the "Beatles ," referring with a certain delicacy and tenderness, loneliness and misery, physical and emotional of all who exist only in their same and are transparent to others. Remaining worthy of discretion, their eyes are looking in vain for a glance, their heart is hoping for a smile, their ears are waiting for a word, and their poor hands pick up the crumbs of existing ones, are, talk, laugh, and say they love each other.

All People Lonely

Oh, look at the lonely people
Oh, look at the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby
Pick the rice in the church when a marriage ends
Lives in a dream
front of his window
Wearing the mask she keeps in a jar in her
Who is she waiting for?

(Chorus:)
Ah, the lonely people, they all come from elsewhere?
Ah, the lonely people, what place is theirs?

Father MacKenzie
Writes the words of a sermon that no one will hear
Nobody will
Look do
Hiding for darning his socks in the evening
Who can see?

(Chorus)

Oh, look at the lonely people
Oh, look at the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby
Dead at church we buried her with her name
Without faithful
Father MacKenzie
wipe the earth with his hands buried completed
No one was saved

Ah, the lonely people, they all come from elsewhere?
Oh, look at the lonely people
Ah, the lonely people, what place is theirs?
Oh, look at the lonely people

Swot Analysis For Pinkberry

was D-Day, talking about the alley

Bahvoui is the big day, and it spent more than half, and still nothing. It squirms, it moves, but it lets itself be desired. For a third, and with 2 big babies between 3 and 2 weeks early, I never thought to go that far. Said large are beginning to believe it's a joke, and I'm 2 fingers to join in this opinion is nothing but a huge crisis of bloating / I'll stay like that ad vitam / c 'is a phantom pregnancy you'll have even baby steps in the end / etc.

***

Brèfle. I thought it was time that I had not caused my alley - I thought that the Copaings would long since relocated to the present moment. A small update is needed, because I note with alarm that the last episode of July when the empty shell has been FINALLY demolished after more than a year of nothing mixed administrative battles that would have been highest in an Asterix comic whatsoever.

In July, therefore, it was demolished the day before the construction holiday, so they have started to take 2 weeks off. But hey, yavait a delivery date November 15, everything seemed to go well. While I was in Europe with children, the foundations were laid with great fanfare shots of dynamite or almost (His Eminence could tell you, the whole neighborhood shook), and the new school year we ended up with a beautiful yard full of machines all over, people who worked, it was great and the children were entitled to the show.

After about 2-3 weeks, everything suddenly stopped. Was expected after the Hydro had come to make connections. The foundations were poured, everything was ready, more than yavait climb the walls. Hydro but did not come, waiting lists, all that.

We waited over a month. Upon restart, the contractor discovered that the architect had made a trip to arch and had fucked bearing walls anywhere. And nobody noticed it, even not the famous license office in the city, which was so bored the world with its requirements to 2 balls. It was therefore necessary to bring a structural engineer to confirm the changes / required remedial history that the case stand up. It took another few weeks. We saw the boarding material come in and go because they needed it on other sites. It was sometimes a guy, sometimes 2 or 3, which took action, and going out. What the crazy activity.

And then one day the miracle happened: the trucks came, filed mountains of planks and construction could resume. Needless to say that in the meantime, the delivery date had been postponed to December 15. But the lease of the 4th Copaings apartment was pretty much due to this point, so it was playable. In theory.

In theory, then. Because that is what you see is the ground floor and first floor, and the last picture I took. Above it there is also a third floor and a mezzanine roof, which we were concerned that strong takes away more sun but ultimately is - for us on the ground floor - relatively harmless. Less for our upstairs neighbors, but that's their problem they will say.

So in theory it would go. But this is just theory that everything always goes well, and that site we learned that one thing you can count on is that nothing ever happens as planned. Because once mounted on 4 levels, the City has still made his own: Hep hep hep! Your front staircase there! Is a walk too! I'll have to revisit all that fissa people, you can put that 17 steps to fit in the built environment around it, you have 18 gold. So you review the building height. Yes yes, also the individual stages. You reduce all there. Worse you resubmit plans eh, we should not allow you to do anything.

Consternation. These fools had not been able to calculate all that, and say first, I guess they bored in their offices and they wanted to keep them busy before the holidays. Finally the history of the storey height was adjusted by varying the size transoms above the doors - imposts therefore inevitably smaller than expected, lower ceilings for Copaings the prospect of having at least one apartment exactly to their tastes and plans began to recede.

Once the problem of the overall height set, one would have thought that it would move forward once and for all. But no, they did not count with ... Hydro again. Who should come to the second phase of the connections. And did not come. Waiting lists, all that. For 1 full month around Christmas, from December 10 to January 10, nothing has happened. NOTHING. The yard was still, a guy came from time to time to check if there were no squatters or others. Nothing else: Hydro was dead.

the side from mid-January, Copaings began to get excited and call right and left. Hydro for backtracking. Journalists and various programs to try to mediate this gigantic absurdity. After over a year and a half outside of their homes for reasons that obviously would have been avoidable if every time everyone had put a little of his own (insurance, district, city, hydro, all stakeholders) it started to do well. It finally went back quietly not fast.

Unless you remember? It was necessary to revisit the height of floors ... and says goodbye height of floors, also said that windows and doors ordered long ago ... did not return. It was therefore necessary to re-order, the contractor apparently did not have the presence of mind, when the history of the height was set from do it right away. Wait, wait, we start to be used. The lease for the fifth apart (5 apts in 18 months, and that's not counting the basement of friends with whom they crib for 10 days before Christmas to make the connection between two leases ...) went until early April, they finally make it longer than a month, because as they said 6 year old daughter when they told him that in April they would return home, "bah, you never know what can happen eh. "

Now there are windows and doors, Hallelujah. But the divisions within it anything, the architect who visibly * also * forgot to consider that once bearing walls erected, there were inevitably less in width to the parts inside. When I went the other day there was even a back wall of the wardrobe which was inserted into the door leading to the next room. In other words, the door was losing half of its width. Practice to bring washer and dryer.

architect in fact it should be Edifis. This would also explain why they started moving on to the land back for 2 days. I remember that one is in Quebec. And in February, the ground is frozen.

***

In fact, if it is, they are expected Petitroize reinstalled.

This puts us in May.

Chus capable.
